Morgan Turner is just a "regular guy" from Baltimore, Maryland. He's just the average dude that has been blessed and fortunate enough to make music a real career and not just a hobby. "As a bassist, I feel that the bass has to the power to change song moods, color, aggressiveness, chords structures, rhythm patterns, melodies, and harmonies. The bass is the one instrument that can relate to EVERYONE. I feels its the glue that holds music together." (Morgan)
Morgan has a vast catalogue of Gospel artist he has recorded with, performed/toured with, and wrote/produced with. Ranging from gospel legends such as John P. Kee, Fred Hammond, Dorinda Clark Cole, Karen Clark Sheard, Paul Morton, Kurt Carr, Maurette Brown Clark, Rance Allen, Rickey Dillard, and Kim Burrell, to the modern day giants such as The Tribbett, JJ Hairston and YP, James Fortune, Anthony Brown, Jason Nelson, Jonathan Nelson, Gene Moore, The Walls Group, Tasha Cobbs (and the list continues to grow)!!!
Even on the RnB side he was afforded the chance to work with Grammy singer/songwriter Brian McKnight while touring on the hit stage play "Cheaper To Keep Her" starring Vivica Fox and Brian McKnight.
"There are thousands of musicians and records that have influenced, and are still influencing me to this day. At heart, I love the older gospel records from the late 80's to the late 90's. ThatÃs the era where I learned most of what I apply today as a bass player. Guys like Joel Smith, Maurice Fitzgerald, Anthony Harmon, Sam Scott, Allen Golden, Steve Huff, Kern Bradley, Jimmy Nueble, Darrell Freeman, Tony Russell, Ethan Farmer, Sharay Reed, Terrance Palmer, and Fred Hammond were some of my heaviest influences during this period (and that's just my gospel list)." (Morgan)
